Injection strech mould

Injection strech mould

An injection stretch mould is a specialized tool used in the injection stretch blow molding (ISBM) process to manufacture high-quality plastic bottles, primarily from PET material. In this process, molten plastic is first injection molded into a preform, which is then reheated and stretched axially by a stretch rod while being expanded radially with compressed air inside the mould cavity. This controlled stretching aligns the polymer molecules, resulting in bottles with superior strength, clarity, uniform wall thickness, and excellent barrier properties. Injection stretch moulds are widely used in the beverage, food, pharmaceutical, and cosmetic industries for producing lightweight yet durable bottles with precise neck finishes.
